IPL 2025 Resumes: BCCI Announces New Dates

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season will recommence after suspension due to national safety. The IPL will restart on May 17, 2025 and end on June 3, 2025. The IPL was suspended May 8 after an airspace incident, which occurred when Pakistan attempted to breach containment in the airspace around Chandigarh. The stadium lost power during the serious breach when Punjab Kings were facing Delhi Capitals.   The BCCI had no choice but to suspend the tournament at that time. The revised schedule reflects 17 played matches remaining in the tournament including playoffs to be played over multiple sites. The following cities will be utilized: Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Jaipur. The governing body used special action to suspend home-and-away formats to expedite the adjusted schedule. Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will host the first match on May 17, 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengal...
