TATA IPL 2025 Final Preview: Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru | Who Will Win?

SRH Crushes KKR by 110 Runs in a Record-Breaking IPL 2025 Clash
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) produced an explosive
display of batting against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 25, 2025,
winning the match by 110 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It was
certainly one of the most lopsided matches of the season and highlighted the
batting prowess and bowling accuracy of SRH.
Match Synopsis
SRH had the benefit of winning the toss and opting
to bat first on a great batting surface, and they took advantage of the batting
friendly conditions. What transpired was a display of explosive cricket as SRH
posted an enormous total of 278/3 in their 20 overs, the 3rd highest total in
IPL history. The innings for SRH was spearheaded by South African wicketkeeper
batsman Heinrich Klaasen who was in devastating form. Klaasen smashed an
incredible 104 off 51 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes. He was able to find gaps
and hit towering sixes at will, the KKR bowlers had no answer.
Klaasen had plenty of help from the top and middle
order. The openers gave SRH a blistering start, and the opens never fully went
away as every batsman who came out batted with aggression, and quick-fire
cameos from the likes of Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram helped with the run
accumulation. KKR's bowling attack, led by regular veterans like Sunil Narine
and Mitchell Starc, proved ineffective against the attack.
KKR’s Struggled in the Chasing
If KKR wanted to chase down 279, they needed their
top order to produce something special, but KKR’s innings started poorly. They
lost early wickets, which put them on the back foot thereafter and never gave
them a chance at the chase. Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer exaggerated their
moves of resilience, but the pressure of an increasing required run rate was
always at the back of their minds. As a result, reckless shots, and full edges
to the nearest fielders were the common sights thereafter.
SRH bowlers executed their attacks with precision.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar's experience will always count for something, and the pace
and firepower from Pat Cummins, combined with the variations from T. Natarajan
and Shahbaz Ahmed, who clearly had KKR's batting plans dismantled KKR. In the
end, KKR batting could only manage 168 runs in 18.4 overs, falling 110 runs
short.
Key Performances

measured to ensure that SRH maintained control of the innings.
• SRH
Bowlers – A collaboration of efforts with every bowler contributing to
constraining KKR's pursuit of the target. The bowlers bowled tight lines, made
use of the slower ball as required, and facilitated regular wickets to fall.

What’s Next
This comprehensive win will instil confidence in
SRH as they look to the business side of the tournament. The resulting net run
rate benefit from the win could mean a lot when it comes to playoff positions.
This loss can only be described as disastrous for KKR, as they are now behind
in the chase for playoffs - considering the playoffs are just around the
corner. They will need to regroup and reassess and turn things around as soon
as possible in their upcoming matches.
As we start to heat up in the EPL 2025 season, this
match will cement a statement win for SRH - a team that is peaking at the right
time and sending a message to the league in terms of being a title contender.
Chak De IPL.!!!
